Special Guest Designer Tusia Lech

We are thrilled to have Tusia Lech, owner of 7 Dots Studio, sharing her work today as our Special Guest Designer for November!

I love all kinds of media – if I have to define my style, I would say that media is the only constant thing. My favourite colours are fresh, bold greens, blues and pinks, but at the same time I just love delicate, pale hues of beige, rose and white. However there is something in my projects, that can be found always – a positive, feminine style.

Scrapbooking fills my whole life – it is all around me – in my private life and in my job career. I love the process of creation – I have created things since early childhood – all kinds of handmade things always attracted me. I cannot imagine my life without making some art. Even if I leave for a weekend, I always take my small “art-bag”, filled with art-journal supplies. I am lucky enough to be a designer in a few very creative places. I love drinking coffee, reading books, walking through the forest, watching flowers on the meadow, basking in the autumn sun and being deep in my inner world. I can say that I am happy person and wouldn’t change a single thing in my life.

My layout honors not only my daughter who is growing so fast, but also my constantly changing and evolving scrapbooking style.

There is a reason I used 7 Dots Studio paper, Studio Calico stamps and several flowers, all these items are really far from each other, and yet I have incorporated all of them into my layout because I would like to show also a constant change in my scrapbooking style.

Thank you for inviting me as a Guest Designer - creating this layout was a great pleasure to me. I hope that by showing a change as a smooth and wonderful process I encouraged everyone a little bit not to be afraid of change and to take part in Berry71Bleu November Challenge! :)

A big thanks to Tusia for sharing her work with us today and for sponsoring the Design Team with gorgeous 7 Dots Studio products this month!

Guest Designer Lisa Griffith - Change is Beautiful

Today we welcome back our October Challenge Winner Lisa Griffith

My name is Lisa Griffith and I live in the USA with my husband and our seven year old son Liam. I adore scrap booking as it combines my two loves, photography and paper crafting. I am the family shutterbug, always taking photos wherever we go, and always planning the next layout, looking for inspiration in the beauty of the light, colors and textures I see all around me.  I love antiques and everything vintage, which is why most Saturday mornings I am out at estate/garages sales, hunting for unique treasures. I love to find things I can incorporate into my work, old sheet music, old book pages, vintage photographs, sewing notions, or bits of lace. When I saw the theme of Novembers challenge, Change is Beautiful, I couldn't help thinking that ever since I hit 40, there have been some changes that I really don't like! Mainly I can't read anything with out glasses, and the sudden appearance of many tiny wrinkles! I know that there is no point in fighting these changes, it's just part of life, so I am trying to accept them gracefully and remember that I have a beautiful family that I adore, and so much to be thankful for, and thats what really matters! I love to create rich textured backgrounds on my layouts with masks, gesso, and lots of inks, paints and flowers. Here I started with  Prima patterned paper and used pieces of old book pages covered in gesso, strongly brewed tea splashes, purple pearl mist, a circle chipboard piece from Blue Fern Studios and some gold micro beads.

Currently I design Mixed Media kits for The Scrapbook Diaries and I have just been invited to join the Blue Fern Studios Design team for 2014, I am so excited!

Thanks so much to all the ladies at Berry71Bleu for having me as a guest!

Hugs, Lisa

Thank you Lisa for sharing your stunning layout with us!

Special Guest Designer Monica Lowrance

We're pleased to introduce Special Guest Designer Monica Lowrance!

Hello all, I'm Monica Lowrance from Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. I have a wonderful teenage son and a pug named George. I've been scrapbooking/crafting for many years now. I love how this hobby has grown and taken on a life of its own. I love to explore with a variety of mediums.

I am so very excited at the chance to design something for Berry71Bleu. It's a pleasure to create with a variety of tools: paints, inks, embossing powders. I love learning new techniques, and about new products and sharing them on my blog. Crafting is such a wonderful outlet for me. I currently design for 3rd Eye, SOUS-Die Cut Team and Paper Temptress. Thank you for letting me share with you all.

I'd be delighted for your to visit my blog, Happy Scrappn 2: http:happyscrappn2.blogspot.com.

Here's the tag that Ms Marivic sent me. It's gorgeous! I had so much fun designing around these colors with my 7 Dots Studio Wonderland papers.

I love the colors on this tag!

I used some Vintage Trinkets from Prima. My friend Cathi O'Neill sent me some pretty flowers. I colored one of the white ones with Lindy's Stamp Gang - Industrial Chic - Steel Shimmerz.

In the above photo I used my Stencil Girl Butterfly Stencil, newly designed by Maria McGuire, and my ShimmerZ -TextureZ in Gritty Graphite.

I love the vintage direction I was able to go with these papers and that awesome tag! Have you seen the November Berry71bleu Mood Board? I hope you enter. There's still time!

Special Guest Designer Cathi O'Neill

We're thrilled to introduce Special Guest Designer Cathi O'Neill!

Hi! My name is Cathi O'Neill. I am an American who married an Irishman and I have been living in Ireland since 1997. I live in a beautiful village on the Shannon River with my DH of 18 years (wow, that makes me feel old!) and my two beautiful daughters, Aine (onya) 11 and Aisling (ashling) 9 who are the subject of many of my projects!

I have always love crafting since I was a little girl. My grandmother taught me to knit and crochet and I remember sewing Barbie doll clothes with her on her front porch! I am a knitter and quilter as well, but have recently in the last two years found cardmaking and scrapbooking, and an obsession was born!! I truly love creating and make vintage cards to sell here in our local village cafe as well as stacks of mixed media and shabby/vintage style layouts of my girls to keep and share with family! I also love to do tags, ATC and altered projects, barely a day goes by when I haven't done something crafty!!

I am currently on the design teams for several manufacturers: Couture Creations, Molossi Chipboard, Paper Wings Productions, Visible Image stamps and Paper Temptress specialty cardstock store. I design for UK distributor Creative Expressions and also design for challenge blogs Frosted Designs, Scrap Africa and Sugar Creek Hollow. I have guest designed for challenge blogs Keeping the Best and Scrap it with a Song, C'est Magnifique Kit Club, Scraps of Elegance Kit Club and Crop Stop online store. I truly enjoy the challenge and inspiration that scrapbooking and cardmaking bring me.

I hope you will come visit me at my blog: http://celticknotted.blogspot.com

I am so excited to be joining Berry71Bleu in January on their full DT, but this month I've had the wonderful opportunity to be a guest designer and work with one of Marivic's gorgeous vintage tags as well!

The tag I received has a beautiful fairy ballerina and a bottlecap that says dance on it, so I just knew I had to do a layout of Aine and her love of ballet. I found a photo of Aine during her first months of ballet in 2007 and funny enough with arms outstretched just like her one from ballet camp this summer, I just had to use it. I fussy cut around her younger photo and placed it into the layout! This month's challenge theme is Change is Beautiful and I think Aine's changes as she grows into a graceful ballerina fit the theme perfectly!!

I chose the colors of my layout from the gorgeous tag. The blues, greens and pinks perfectly suited the 9th Wave papers, die cuts, and stickers I had from 7 Dots Studio as well. I used some gorgeous Molossi chipboard, cutting a heart in half and using it on both sides of the layout cluster. I colored it with pink chalk ink to tone in with the tag colors and then used a Prima stamp and added some gesso. I also added some chicken wire chipboard and colored that in with the teal chalk ink...

I added some Molossi paper flowers and some gorgeous Petaloo flowers I had in my stash, added a bit of stamping and splatters and a tiny bit of modelling paste on my background.
